All Inclusive Cruises - Amazing Destinations in a Very Affordable Vacation

Expert Author Kelly Nickless

The stresses of booking your vacation, planning the vacation, and paying for it all can be anything but peaceful so if you can have it all taken care of for you then you can concentrate on relaxing and waiting for the fun to begin. An all inclusive vacation plan can provide you the peace that you need. You will purchase a package that will pay for your food and your accommodations throughout the entire time of your cruise.

It is possible in this day and time to find all inclusive vacations to nearly every tourist attraction in the world but the all inclusive cruises are somewhat different. You will have the opportunity to visit different locations for day trips and then get back on the boat and have more great experiences.

The swimming pools that are onboard combined with the live entertainment and the scrumptious dining experiences will be plenty to give you an exciting vacation. Some of the cruise lines offer flat screen televisions and cellular phones in their cabins while others provide dancing, rock climbing experiences as well as other great experiences. There are other cruises that are there strictly to pamper you and provide relaxation. Their sole purpose is to remove the stresses that come with day to day life.

The most important benefit to purchasing an all inclusive cruise package is that you can set a limit on your budget, pay in advance, and stick to it. You may have, at one time or another experienced the additional costs that come when you take a more traditional vacation. You pay for the hotel and the flight and then the costs being to pile up with the food and the entertainment. Your budget is very quickly blown and you find it very difficult to restrain yourself.

An all inclusive trip provides you with the ability to set your budget in advance so you know what you can afford. You will get your food and possibly your drinks as part of the package and you will only need to spend money outside of your prepaid amount if you want to purchase souvenirs or go shopping on the stops that you make on the cruise.

If your intention on the cruise is to spend some quality time with a loved one, a group of family members, or simply to spend some time by yourself then a cruise is the right answer. The destinations and experiences that can be found on a cruise vary so be sure to take some time to review all of the options before you make your final decision. Traveling with a family is made very easy with an all inclusive cruise because often times there are daycare options available so the adults on the cruise can get away and enjoy some adult fun as well.

Affording a vacation can be challenging but the all inclusive cruise makes getting away very affordable. Take some time today to check out the options and you are sure to be impressed with what fits into your budgeted price that you have to work with.

Kelly has a passion for cruises and loves writing about the new Disney Caribbean Cruises and the All Inclusive Cruises options.

Family Cruise Vacation How-to

You have a "special' birthday or other special family event coming up. You want to make the event even more memorable. There would be a wide range of ages and interests in the family members attending. What should you do? Plan a family cruise vacation!

We have done this ourselves. We had a "special" birthday in the family and wanted to vacation with our grown-up children to celebrate. With careful consideration for what we might like to do, where we might like to go, and to provide enough variety in eating (the kids are finicky eaters) and activities to keep everyone happy, a cruise seemed to best fit the bill.

Family cruises offer one of the very best family vacation packages available. Consider this: Per person, you pay one price for your cruise stateroom, all of your meals, some fantastic entertainment and a myriad of daily activities - not to mention the fabulous ports-of-call!

As it turned out, we had a total of 12 people coming on our family vacation cruise ranging in age from 26 to 85. Pleasing this wide of a range of ages can prove daunting. However, having been on a cruise or two already, we knew that cruises offered the best array of options in dining, activities, entertainment and destinations.

Choosing the right cruise line and cruise itinerary can be somewhat of a challenge. However, if you approach this task methodically, everything will fall into place and you'll choose the absolute best cruise for you and your family.

You will notice that I started by saying to choose the right cruise line. This - believe it or not - can make or break your family vacation. There are cruise lines that cater to specific groups or types of cruise passenger. It's important to identify what type of group your family fits into.

As mentioned before, our group required variety. Our twenty-something kids need to have a festive, party atmosphere. Our parents required something somewhat more sophisticated without being stuffy or pretentious. Many of the "contemporary" cruise lines offer much of this variety, and only on the larger cruise ships. We quickly were able to narrow our search to three cruise lines.

In looking at the cruise line and cruise ship, we carefully scanned over the amenities and listed activities for the specific ships. All three had a good variety. Each had specific high spots and potential low spots. Even with our diverse group, we felt that all three cruise lines could offer us a great family vacation cruise experience.

Next was the itinerary - or destinations where the individual cruises stopped. These ports-of-call make cruises an extra special vacation value. Of course, we had a set date that we wanted to be away, so we looked at the available itineraries for the three cruise lines, including which ships sailed those itineraries. We chose the southern Caribbean for our cruise.

All three cruise lines offered a southern Caribbean cruise at the time we wanted to cruise. Each offered different ports-of-call which allowed us to narrow our search. We next looked at the cost of the cruise vacation and what potential discounts/special offers we might receive by booking 6 staterooms.

Now we had all of the information required to make our decision. We first narrowed our search to three cruise lines. We chose a cruise locale and looked at the available cruise ships in those cruise lines sailing on our specified date. Lastly, we compared pricing.

As it turned out, we chose the middle priced cruise (before discounts). This choice had a variety of amenities to cater to our "kids". Our parents would have a level of sophisticated elegance. And we would have piece of mind in knowing that we had done "due diligence" in choosing the best cruise for our family vcation.

Oh yes, do you want to know which cruise we chose? We chose Princess Cruises' ship Golden Princess. Our cruise itinerary:

o San Juan, Puerto Rico

o St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands

o St. Kitts, St. Kitts & Nevis

o Grenada

o Isla Margarita

o Aruba

o San Juan

Cruise Vacation Part 3 - The Fun Vacation

- If you do not have a passport, this should be one of the first things you need to take care of. The post office is the main place for this, but many times you can get a passport picture taken at a number of other places. Always carry your passport in your handbag, personal bag or carry on luggage.

- If you know what ports you will be stopping at, start doing a little research. Decide if you want to make a reservation for a specific shore excursion, or just wait until you get there and go exploring on your own. On our last cruise vacation we didn't sign up for any shore excursions, and we both thought we saw more of the area and had a lot more fun. If you plan on going off on your own, do some on-line research. Print out a map. See what is unique at this port that would be of interest to you and decide which spots you will have time to see. For the more adventurous... just pick a direction and start wandering. When you disembark at a port, just remember there a couple hundred other travelers too. Don't stop at the first few shops or cab stands. Walk a little further and you will have fewer people to deal with. Usually the biggest tourist traps are right when you get off the ship. Discover hidden treasures farther down the path.

-If a different language is spoken at your ports of call, look up some simple but useful word translations and write them down on a little cheat sheet that you can easily carry around.

-Not only should you pack enough of your prescription medicines, but bring along the actual prescriptions. If there is ever a problem, you can prove that these are your prescription drugs.

-On most cruise ships they will ask your preference on dining; early seating (usually 6pm) or late seating (8pm). Some cruise ships have a dress code while others do not. On our last cruise, Carnival Cruise Line offered any time seating. This gave us a lot of flexibility. You didn't always have to be on a schedule it you ran into a fun activity.

-Depending on how big of a shutter bug you are, consider bringing along extra camera cards. Then you can alternate cards each day. That way if you either lose one, or one goes bad; you will not have lost the whole first half of your trip. We mark our camera cards A and B. (or add C & D on a really long trip). During your cruise vacation ask others to take your picture. Even if you are traveling during the driest season, you can still expect it to rain at least once. Those cheap shower caps all hotels give out, work as a great rain cover for your camera. You can also bring a zip lock bag to carry it in. If you happen to have any Silica Gel Packs, throw them in your camera bag to absorb any moisture.

-Bring along one of those wide mouth, hard plastic water bottles on your cruise vacation. You can pack several small liquids bottles inside while traveling (shampoo, hair gel etc.). In addition, use it as a water bottle at the pool or on your trips to the beach.

-While on board your cruise ship, ask others about the ports, or things they enjoy while on board. You can learn a lot from the trials and errors of others. You may discover some great new adventures in your travels.

-If you have any problems while on the cruise ship, the Purser is the one you want to talk to. Just remember he/she has probably heard just about any story you can come up with. So just tell them the truth about what happened and they will be a lot more open to helping you. If he can't take care of your problem, he can usually steer you to the person who can. He can also answer many questions you may have.

-Cruise lines are coming up with a lot of on board extras that you have to pay more for. Some of them are a good bargain, and some are not, so don't get carried away. One of the options is an "all you can drink" soda (I drink way too much pop, so it was a great value for me). Even though most of the food on board is free, most cruise ships have fine dining restaurants that you pay extra for. It is fun to splurge once in awhile on an exquisite meal.

-Explore the whole cruise ship. Then you will know all that the ship has to offer. Sometimes you get so involved in the area near your end of the ship that you miss out on some great fun. Check out the daily schedule (often on your TV and a daily print out). Try something new, from learning a new dance, sampling specialty drinks, card clubs, shopping specials, to learning how to write a book and informational meetings for the next port.

-Just remember that nice little plastic room key is also a credit card. Every time you buy something they will ask for your key. They automatically add in any tips. So make a habit of checking your bill every day. All you have to do is turn on your TV to the right channel, and up pops your bill. Not only will you be aware of how fast those little umbrella drinks add up, but you will also be able to take care of any charges that are not yours, if there is an error.

-There are so many more activities on your cruise ship than you have time for (I've tried). So if your idea of fun is to see and do as much as you can...or if it's to find that perfect spot on boat to just relax; a cruise vacation is perfect for you. You make it what you want.

Selecting a Cruise Line For the Family Vacation Trip

Cruise ships have been operating with great success for quite a lot of years. Countless families enjoy experiencing their summer vacations on a luxury cruise ship. Often times though, even more families don't look at it as being an option for themselves. For anybody who is hoping for a different and exciting way of spending the family vacation this year, you might want to look at going on a family cruise.

Unfortunately, there are lots of people who automatically assume that luxury cruise ships usually aren't family friendly. This is a long way from being true. You and your family might be passing up one of the finest opportunities you could ever experience. Considering there are many cruise lines to select from, with each one featuring various trips and ports of call, you are sure to find one that will offer the perfect voyage for your family vacation.

Only some of the different family pursuits to be enjoyed aboard a cruise liner consist of great meals, movies, and swimming. Many additional amusements should be offered. The family oriented activities offered on a luxury cruise vacation normally are dependent on the particular cruise line. Together with activities for your entire family, a lot of cruise lines provide entertainments which are developed mainly for youngsters. While your youngsters are engaging in these closely watched, entertaining pursuits, you may be savoring a little time to yourself.

Childcare is another of the numerous advantages of choosing a family cruise vacation. Practically all luxury cruise ships include daycare. Whenever you are journeying with young kids, these daycare centers will also let you have time to spend by yourself or with your spouse. Childcare facilities are frequently offered at no cost. It is possible to drop your kids off and be on your way to doing something relaxing in very little time at all.

You need to do some groundwork if you would like to learn more concerning the family entertainment and recreation provided aboard a luxury cruise ship. This investigation can easily be done on the internet by looking at a number of different cruise lines. More than likely you will notice that there are quite a few vacation cruise ships developed specifically for families with young children while researching. You undoubtedly do not have to restrict yourself just to family oriented cruises, but you may decide that they will be beneficial and meet your requirements.

You might decide to consult with a travel adviser to uncover a family cruise, instead of undertaking all of the work on your own. An experienced travel broker can do an evaluation, and schedule your next family cruise line getaway, for a small cost. In addition to compiling data on family cruise vacations, the travel agent is also likely to give you a satisfaction guaranteed policy. These types of policies are designed to assist you or provide you with a monetary return if your vacation is not what you were led to expect, or a total flop. The chances that this will occur is going to be quite low.

If you are unable to budget for the service of a travel adviser, you should manage to reserve your own cruise vacation on the internet. Numerous favorite cruise lines, which include Carnival, Celebrity, Disney and Royal Caribbean. feature online websites. These web pages can be used to check out the actual recreation aboard a specific ship, review the fees associated with making your reservation for a voyage, and to get online reservations. Making your own reservation for your family cruise vacation is a very good method to use to find the perfect cruise line for all your family members, plus spend less cash at the same time.

Even if you book your own family cruise holiday, or you go with the professional aid of a travel agent, you are likely to delight in your vacation cruise. Actually, a lot of families enjoy the family holiday they had aboard a cruise ship so much, many decide to go again for their next vacation.

Four Reasons Why Cruise Prices May Never Be Lower

We are seeing right now a perfect time for booking a cruise, particularly if you can leave at the last-minute. Obviously that is not feasible for everyone. But retirees, people with flexible work schedules, or perhaps people who were planning on a vacation soon and haven't quite nailed it down, now may be the time to take a cruise, particularly to the Mediterranean Area. So why is now the perfect time to book a cruise? It is all about supply and demand.

The long-term trend for the cruise industry is going up, and has been since the late 1980s. That's when the huge cruise ships started to be built-in anticipation of the large demand that this niche of vacationing would bring. They were right, as more ships were built and more areas were covered by cruise lines, more people became cruise-happy. Since 2001 nine or more newly built ships every year have been added just catering to North American clientele. In 2011 more than 19 million passengers worldwide took a cruise.

There are at least four reasons why right now is your optimum time to take a cruise:

1. Demand is low. There are several reasons for this, but the economy is a big one. People are still leery about spending too much, but all of those cabins have already been built, and the cruise lines want to fill them. They feel if they can get you on board at a rock-bottom price, you'll spend money voluntarily at the casino or purchasing wine with dinner, normally not covered in your original cost to book. That doesn't mean you have to make those purchases, and even if you didn't take the cruise you still would have some cost for food.

The second reason why demand is low is the devastating Concordia tragedy off the coast of Italy last year, and it has gotten more than a few people nervous about cruise ships. Like all disasters that are extremely rare, memories will fade and people will get past those fears and start booking. But for now it means empty cabins.

2. New ships are being built, meaning discounts on older ships. With these newer ships coming on board and demand in a slump, the older ships are the ones to look for that will have the best deals. Some of these "older ships" just a few years ago were the fleets' star attractions, and like getting a deal on a late-model used car it will be your best value.

3. Rising fuel costs. Most analysts predict fuel prices to continue to rise, meaning that in the future the cruise lines will have no choice but to pass the cost on.

4. The economy will come back. Economies are cyclical, and these more difficult economic times will turn around just as they always have. When they do, cruise demand will increase.

The economy will bounce back and the Costa Concordia disaster will become a distant memory, and then demand for cruises will shoot back up in a big way. If you've ever taken a trip to the Mediterranean, you will know that a cruise ship is a wonderful way experience a vacation to Europe.

Even though cruising is in a bit of a temporary slump, people will soon be flocking back to this wonderful way to see the world.
