A few years ago, in the world, only rich people had enough money to go on a cruise vacation. In times around 1950, many people, who were not very well off, began to take advantage of cruising vacations in spite of not having a load of money in their bank account. Now, even if you have a low income, you can go on a cruise vacation, if you are indeed determined to do so.
If your not very well off and have limited funds, you must plan really well for taking your dream vacation, making the ends meet. Do your homework and plan ahead. These will make a big difference between you going on your cruise or you camping in your backyard.
The first thing that is to be known is that with special things advertised, many limitations also come. Cruise companies quote low prices and attract customers to itself. Once they are in, the companies milk them for more money, by showing them that they will never get the advertised services for the quoted low cost.
Another method they employ to get more amount of money off clients is putting time limits on advertised specials. If you miss the closing date, it is you who will lose, by missing great savings. It is very sneaky of them, but is legitimate is it is not technically illegal, as they have a right to limit the specials offered by them as they feel fit.
You must also know that the regular price will cover nothing but the basic cruise needs. It includes your food, room, entertainment and some basic amenities on the cruising ship. No extra services like spas, massages and other elite entertainment are covered by the price. When it is said that food expenses are covered, it means, three square meals a day and no snacks or drinks that you may wish to have in between. These items are not needed necessarily, but will give you satisfaction to know that these are available for you.
Also, you may be asked to pay an amount of money as port fees, if they aren't included with your vacation price, and they can add up a lot on your budget. They start from a minimum of about 100$ and become more, depending on the number of times the cruise ships dock during the cruises.
Travel and accident insurance is an extra expense that you might want to think really about. You never will know what can happen. You can become sick or even injured. Your traditional insurances may not cover the charges incurred during your vacation, especially, away from your country.
